I took a piece of tempered glass on two filing cabinets or other furniture from the same height arranged. Place a lamp underneath. It is not necessary shade, the bulb is the job for you.
It is easy to install, simple to use and easy to stow. Probably no need to buy something special, especially when tempered glass. I saw people recycle them off the shelf stereo age.
A couple of milk crates and a plank set on the Upper Great work. You can even use the boxes for books, files, etc. Otherwise, you were trying to flea markets, resale shops (Army Hello).
Profile updates. Could you try the idea above, but instead of holding a board with two pieces of Plexiglas (stick drawing between the two) and a small table lamp on the floor below, if you want to use. I do not know whether it works or not, but it is the best idea that you could get a. LOL.
